Tapped In is a great place for connecting teachers and students. My favorite thing about the site is the transcripts from the chat sessions so you don’t have to take notes. At first I was havingĀ trouble loading Tapped In but after the training it seems to be running much better. (User error I assume.. LOL) I have to say one thing I feel much more comfortable surfing around BlackBoard. But hopefully after this semesterĀ I will feel the same with Tapped In. Nice community!!

Part of the “comfort” you’re finding in Blackboard is, undoubtedly, related to your familiarity. It’s actually a very simple collection of tools wrapped in a complex shell. It’s very much more complicated than I think it needs to be to accomplish some very simple tasks, but repeatedly dealing with it will inure you to its vagarities.
TI on the other hand is a very complex environment that’s wrapped in a simple shell. The key difference is account control. You have control of your own resources and you can share them as widely or narrowly as YOU want. In blackboard, it’s all in the hands of the system administrators.
