Video and Voice

Video is beneficial no matter what environment you’re teaching in. I would like to see video and voice used in online courses via webcam. Instead of writing in our blogs we could record our thoughts and post our recordings. Instead of reading blogs we could listen and make notes.

The problem with that is that aggregation is problematic. How can I highlight a part of your post and cite it back?

There are other issues, too, having to do with embodiment, presentation, bandwidth, and technology. We certainly *could* have gone all video in this class, but logistically, I just don’t have time to listen to you speak in five minutes what I can read in less than one.

I agee with NL. We just don’t have the time to listen to 24 5 minute speeches and reply to each of them. It’s a nice thought, but not realistic. Maybe we could do our final like this.
