I can remember being thrown into this last semester and feeling so overwhelmed, this time around doesn’t feel so bad! I really enjoy using the Podcast directory in iTunes they have so many categories! I love taking pictures and my skills are really impressing me. I’m not taking any pictures of people or animals just random objects. I like taking pictures of large buildings downtown and bridges. In the spring my pictures will turn out much better because Kentucky is gorgeous that time of year.

This article describes the obstacles that students with disabilities encounter with educational technology.  The most common barriers for all school districts is usually cost for equipment and access in rural areas. Every Kentucky county has these problems which is unfortunate for our students.  This article really stresses how students with disabilities have more problems accessing technology than others.

Lack of funding to train personnel to utilize technology” how often do we see this? Most educators never use the technology fully.

“Such features are critical for educational technology product access just as ramps and lever door handles are critical for facility access.” Sometimes we just miss the basics. This article has a lot of good points.

I just needed to vent somewhere…

This is my second semester in the Education Technology program & I’m starting to understand the relationship between Education, Technology, and Culture. Technology is everywhere especially my classroom. Technology is a vital part of culture and plays a very important role in our society. Technology usually means convenience and who doesn’t love that! Technologies change the way we teach lessons and communicate with our students. When children are exposed to modern technologies this will carry over to society and our culture.

Wow!! I can’t believe Christmas break is over! Back to blogging!

Multimedia- is so broad and describes various things.  In the classroom this could mean computer software such as Microsoft Office or a DVD player.  Sound, text, technology are all included when discussing multimedia.  I’m interested in learning more about digital multimedia.
