The gender gap referenced in the article has existed in America for years. Women have always been victims to unfair wages in the work place. I’ve never understood why a female will make less than a man for doing the exact same job. Whenever you think about IT jobs women are always the smallest percentages especially when you look at managers and engineers. The whole market is designed to push females away from those positions. What a sought after female you would be if you had high level experience in IT. The school systems are slightly to blame for not exposing females to every career imaginable. I really thought our society was past these gender base issues in the work place. Computer classes should be mandatory in our school systems to help reduce the digital divide.
